What is closed-loop recycling?
Closed-loop recycling is the process of using recycled material to manufacture new products in the same category.
We’re working with leading manufacturers to reduce waste, avoid landfills, and recycle your old windows, doors, and glass in closed-loop recycling programmes.
Our primary supplier, Emplas Window Systems, in association with the Epwin Group and Poly-Pure, is at the forefront of the closed-loop recycling process for uPVC window frames.
Padiham Glass is building a new recycling loop with Saint-Gobain Glass to recover more used window glass for various sustainability purposes.
You can be reassured that when we remove your old windows and doors, we will ensure that every piece of the material collected is evaluated and processed as part of a closed-loop recycling programme.
Every step of the process, from recovering and recycling material to manufacturing new products, takes place in the UK.
The Process in six easy steps:
- Removal: When installing your new replacement windows and/or doors, our fitting team will carefully remove your old windows and/or doors and bring them back to our headquarters in Newnham on Severn.
- Collection: Materials are then collected and transported to specialist UK-based recycling facilities.
- Processing: Advanced techniques are used to separate and refine the uPVC and glass.
- Remanufacture: Recycled uPVC is re-moulded, and glass waste is used in new glass sheets.
- Fabrication: The remoulded uPVC and Glass sheets are used to manufacture new windows and doors.
- Installation: These new windows and doors are installed in a customer's home, thus giving your old windows and doors a new home and us all A Brighter Future!
